Where we began
Axess Ability was established to offer individualised assistance for adults living with a disability, aiming to address concerns raised by families regarding the overcrowded and impersonal nature of other services. Our co-founders, Michelle Scarlett and Nigel Head utilised their 30 years of experience in support work and were motivated and encouraged by those families searching for a more suitable alternative.
We began with only two staff and four participants. Despite our small size, we have always provided tailored support services to meet the unique needs and preferences of our clients. As we have grown and evolved, our dedication to offering top-notch support has never wavered.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to past and current participants, their families, and trusted individuals for their invaluable support and contributions to Axess Ability. Your feedback has helped shape this organisation, and we remain dedicated to working closely with you to offer the best support and services. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
Where we go from here
We wish to continue to grow and evolve while staying true to our core values. We aim to expand our reach and offer our services to even more participants while continuing to work closely with our current participants and their families to ensure that we meet their changing needs and interests. Ultimately, we want to be recognised as an example of true support that puts the needs and interests of our participants first.
